Conifer Saint Michael Medical Center Bargaining Update
Our Union Bargaining Team: Linnea Ellis, Patient Access Representative; Nicole Peschon, Coding Specialist
On November 25 our Bargaining Team met with Conifer Revenue Cycle Solutions to continue negotiations virtually until our next in-person sessions on December 10 and December 11.
Management continues to propose changes to our “work on holidays” language in Article 11 of our contract. As written, this would mean that members would receive only the time and a half for that work —BUT NOT HOLIDAY PAY.
Both our Union Bargaining Team and Management made a few proposals and counter-proposals on economics, but by the end of the day the last offer from Management was 1.1% across-the-board wage increases year one, with 1% increases in years two and three. Our proposed changes to the cost-sharing structure of health insurance premiums to help ease the burden of these costs on our members was not met with any interest from Conifer.
“Throughout the day the Employer only increased their offer on wages by 1/10 of one percent in the first year of the contract—we do not consider this significant progress despite our best efforts.” - Linnea Ellis, Patient Access Representative

We hereby call upon Management to bargain to reach a fair agreement for a successor contract that does not have take-aways to existing pay for work on holidays language and addresses our eroded wages due to inflation and an expensive housing market.
