Seattle Children’s Hospital Medical Assistants Bargaining Update
Our Union Bargaining Team: Wendy Rivas, Joelyn Martin, and Angelica Acevedo Arreola
On May 28 our Union Bargaining Team met with SCH Management for our initial bargaining session. We discussed times of future bargaining dates and exchanged some initial non-economic proposals that included potential changes to:
Length of probationary period.
How our layoff and recall process is spelled out in the contract.
Deadlines for filing formal grievances.
Since this was a half-day of bargaining this was mostly a meet and greet between our Union Bargaining Team and the Management team, but we have more sessions scheduled each Tuesday throughout June and July. The tone was positive overall, and we look forward to working collaboratively with the Employer to improve our working conditions and compensation.
