In 2020 we organized our Union to address wage inequity, safety, and respect on the job... and stood together with our coworkers to win a strong first Union contract in 2021. We did this through our collective action and were able to achieve a wage scale, annual wage increases, benefits, job protections, and a solid base to build on in the future.

Now, it’s time to return to the bargaining table and negotiate our contract for the next 3 years. Our Technical Unit bargaining team met last week to review surveys and prepare our proposals. We have requested bargaining dates from Providence and expect to begin negotiations in August.

Join us for our first contract action team meeting! We will have pizza (and yard signs!) and space to discuss issues important to you, to meet your bargaining team and negotiators, and learn about recent wins of Providence workers across the state and what it will take to build a strong campaign. Our negotiations come on the heels of two UFCW strikes at Providence—and our hope is that we can learn together from those wins and prepare our coworkers to build up to a strike if we have to.
