Ellensburg Fred Meyer We did it! Grocery & Meat contracts approved by overwhelming majority!
After months of bargaining, we have voted in our first contract with many amazing improvements including:
A strong journey wage increase! We increased our Journey wages by $4.00 or more.
Big lump sum bonus checks for all workers $500 for all workers excluding Courtesy Clerks who will be receiving $750
Won an “All Purpose Clerk” scale with historic pay raises for many departments —for some over 25% wage increase during the course of this contract.
We secured wage escalators —that means strong wage increases throughout the pay scale when minimum wage goes up and when workers are moving through the apprentice rates.
Just Cause protections which means your employer can’t discipline/discharge without Just Cause.
Healthcare with benefit plan which is set to start 1/1/2026.
Major improvements to our vacation banks that will ensure that we get vacation based off of hours worked.
A pension plan attached to your wage that goes up every time wages increase. Set to start 1/1/2026
Dedicated money to fund training and workforce development to ensure that we get the training we need to do our jobs and prepare for the future of the industry.
Stronger safety language to address top issues we face in our stores.
We couldn’t have done it without standing together and supporting our bargaining team. Thanks for all of you who came out to learn about the contract and vote.
We will be getting the contract out as soon as we can, in the meantime reach out to your union Rep Tammerly Evans or Shop Stewards for a copy of the settlement and highlight sheet.
