You can help give back to those who are most in need. The UFCW 3000 Workers in Crisis Relief Fund was established to provide financial assistance to UFCW 3000 members impacted by the coronavirus outbreak and future large-scale social and economic crises.

The UFCW Local 3000 established the Workers in Crisis Relief Fund to assist UFCW members facing financial challenges caused by the coronavirus outbreak and other large-scale social or economic crises. All money contributed to this fund will be paid to members. No money will be used for any other purpose or for any union operations. No money may personally benefit any UFCW officer or employee, or their families.

The fund will not solicit or accept contributions from employers whose employees Local 3000 represents, seeks to represent, or recently attempted to organize. The fund will also not accept contributions from employers that operate in an industry in which a significant number of Local 3000's members are employed.

Today, more than 50,000 UFCW 3000 members are on the frontlines of the Covid-19 crisis, risking their own well-being to provide care to patients in hospitals, labs, and clinics, and making sure that our pharmacies and grocery stores are stocked and open for business. Alternatively, members in other industries face lay-offs at an unprecedented rate not just locally, but across the country.

Funds raised are used to:

  • Offer financial assistance to UFCW members who provide essential services to the public in times of crisis, with the objective of allowing them to continue to perform those essential functions without undue financial hardship.

  • For example, assistance may be provided to health care, pharmacy, grocery, food processing, and other essential workers to assist them with childcare, elder care, or other relevant needs.

  • Offer financial assistance to UFCW 3000 members who experience a loss of household income or face unexpected expenses due to the coronavirus outbreak or future large-scale social and economic crises.
