MLK Day is just around the corner! In preparation of this incredibly important day, UFCW 21 is joining the Seattle MLK Organizing Coalition and our union siblings for an educational workshop on “Labor Solidarity Across Communities of Color.” Our very own Campaign Director, Indira Trejo, will be participating in this panel alongside speakers from the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, UNITE HERE! Local 8, APALA, and the WA State Labor Council. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan 11, at 7:00 PM.

Workshop Description: With “Striketober” and other labor militancy, how will workers of color be better represented in the labor movement? The issues of communities of color are inseparable from the concerns of workers of color. In this panel, learn how constituencies of color are working together to advance our common interests. Throughout the pandemic, we have met regularly to build relationships. We invite you to be part of this conversation and to open more doors to our youth.
