Recovery Cafe Bargaining Update

On November 25, our union Bargaining Team met with Recovery Cafe for another bargaining session. We began our discussion asking questions about Management’s plan to support staff to meet the goals at the SODO location, what happens if the goals are not met, and alternatives to a worksite closure. While we hoped to receive a clear plan that we assumed was prepared before this potential closure was announced, we were told that we’d need to follow up with them about how they plan to double active members at SODO within the next two months. Although we have not received a plan from Management, we have a plan to protect the jobs of our coworkers and support the need of Recovery Cafe members.  

This Thursday, December 4, at 7pm our union will be holding another membership meeting to review our plan and put it in action. We will continue to fight for a contract we deserve and to protect each other at work!
