FEEST - Recentering Our Goals
/On Tuesday and Wednesday July 14 and 15 our Union bargaining committee and FEEST management met again to continue negotiating your first Collective Bargaining Agreement. We made progress on several issues and were able to come to agreements on the following: Immigration; Gender Identity; Performance Review; Whistleblower Policy; Secure Workplace; and No Strike No Lockout. We are awaiting FEEST’s full PTO counter proposals, and a wage counter proposal to move forward with the economics of our bargaining.
Until then we plan to continue making progess on non-economic language, including on: Discipline and Discharge – ensuring no discipline or discharge can be done arbitrarily or without cause and our Equity in Governance & Labor Management Committee proposal – ensuring a workplace where the door remains open for feedback. Our bargaining committees have agreed to schedule more sessions to resume negotiations, until then please wear your union gear and show solidarity for your bargaining team! Also, please attend our CAT meeting on Tuesday 7/21 at 6pm where we’ll give updates about how negotiations are going.
“I’m excited about us moving forward and agreeing to a strong Immigration article that will keep ICE out of our workplace. It feels good to know management truly invested into the values they preach. We hope this latest session makes it clear we want to move forward together.” –Erandy Flores, Programing
“To kick off day 4 we reminded management of why we were at the table and that at the end of this process we want a contract that works for us and that recognizes our collective needs.” – Noah Collier, Programming
“It’s courageous of my fellow bargaining team members to sit across the table from our employer. Even though we had tense moments I’m proud of the progress we made on getting TA’s for Gender Identity, Secure Workplace, and establishing regular Performance Reviews.” – Devan Rogers, Operations
Please reach out to a bargaining committee member if you have questions or reach out to your rep – David Trujillo, (206)-436-6606.
