Downtown Dog Lounge New Vacation Policy Vote Scheduled!

Downtown Dog Lounge is proposing to begin a new vacation policy after the new year. Because this is change affects our existing contract, we will be voting on the proposal on December 18. 

Summary of Proposed Policy Changes: 

Earlier Access to Vacation 

  • Vacation may be used after 90 days of continuous employment instead of waiting 1 year. 

Annual Vacation Reload 

  • Vacation will no longer accrue per pay period based on hours worked. Instead, it will be reloaded in full on January 1st each year, giving employees clear, upfront availability for planning. 

  • Carryover maximum remains at 56 hours. 

Increased Vacation Allotments 

Part-Time Employees 

  • 1–2 years of service: 40 hours (5 days) 

  • 2–4 years of service: 60 hours (7.5 days) 

  • 5+ years of service: 80 hours (10 days) 

Full-Time Employees 

  • 1–2 years of service: 80 hours (10 days) 

  • 2–4 years of service: 120 hours (15 days) 

  • 5+ years of service: 160 hours (20 days)

11:00am—1:00pm 
In-person at DDL Ballard (824 NW 46th St, Seattle, WA 98107) 

3:00pm—5:00pm 
In-person at DDL South Lake Union (1011 Mercer St, Seattle, WA 98109)
