FEEST Tentative Agreement Reached!
/“We are so glad to be done and feel like we are in a much better place than when negotiations began. Through this process, starting an organizing committee, filing for an election, gaining recognition of our union, and staying united through bargaining, we were able to reclaim our power as workers. We hope that the rights we have won will set up FEEST to be a better organization and a better workplace for all of us. We also want to uplift all the people who made this possible who are no longer here. We know this Tentative Agreement is a long time coming.” – Our Union Bargaining Team: Erandy Flores; Devan Rogers; Noah Collier; David Trujillo; Negotiator: Robert Goldsmith.
On Tuesday September 29, we met with FEEST management to continue bargaining for our first contract. We are excited to announce that we have a Tentative Agreement! Our Bargaining Team unanimously recommends a YES vote to ratify this historic agreement.
Here are just some of the historic wins we want to highlight:
Just Cause – We fought and won strong Just Cause protections for all our members. No one should be disciplined without cause and we enshrined that into our contract.
Labor Management Committee – We fought and won for protected committee meetings where you can discuss workplace issues and concerns management – free from retaliation.
Discrimination & Harassment – Strong protections that create an interactive process to prevent and remedy any discrimination or harassment.
Immigration – Required notification of ICE presence around the office if management becomes aware of any ICE activity.
Paid Time Off – Increase Paid Time Off for all members, with increasing time for each member as their seniority increases.
Wage Scale – A clearly defined wage scale that delivers real wage increases for every member in each year of the contract.
Next Steps:
Please lookout for a vote notice once we can confirm when the ratification vote will take place. Members will all have a chance to review the vote documents and ask questions, we will also hold a meeting to discuss this historic TA very soon. Also, please thank your Bargaining Team! They worked very hard.
