CommonSpirit St. Joseph Medical Center STRIKE READY & HOLDING THE LINE

Strike ready and holding the line

Our team will be returning to the bargaining table on Thursday, November 12, ready to reach a deal or give our notice to strike. For healthcare facilities, strike notices must be given to the hospital and the federal mediation service at least 10 days prior to the beginning of a strike.  At our next session our Union President, Faye Guenther and Secretary Treasurer, Sean Embly will join to help support us as we continue to prepare for a ULP Strike. We are committed to our fight for a fair contract with no takeaways. A contract that reflects the hard work we do every day. And we are committed to standing up for our worker rights and against management that we believe is violating labor law by unlawfully questioning workers about if they are going to participate in a strike or other protected action

You and your coworkers will need to complete a W9 form to receive the ULP Strike Benefit. The digital link and QR code will be ready early next week. Be sure to review our strike FAQ for any questions you may have about your rights when participating in a strike.

Recently, our executive board voted to approve the following strike benefits:

  • Less than 20 hours within 7 days: $200 (stay-home pay)

  • 20–32 hours within 7 days: $500 in strike benefits

  • 32 or more hours within 7 days: $800 in strike benefits

Benefits will be prorated based on the number of days on strike

Our bargaining team will continue to share more resources and information as we get closer to our potential ULP strike. Stay informed by making sure your contact information is updated here >>
