PCC Sign the Petition to Reclaim Our Co-op!
/On Feb 13, our member-led Bargaining Team returned to the table to fight for better wages, more hours, and other policies we need to uphold our co-op values.
We made some progress, reaching a Tentative Agreement with PCC that gives Helper Clerks top priority for promotions to Clerk positions.
After PCC offered a low-ball wage proposal, we countered with the following:
Wages (Grocery)
Year 1
Effective Jan 1, 2026: $2.20
Effective July 1, 2026: $1.30
Year 2
Effective Jan 1, 2027: $1.30
Effective July 1, 2027: $2.30
Wages (Meat)
Year 1
Effective Jan 1, 2026: $2.25
Effective July 1, 2026: $1.30
Year 2
Effective Jan 1, 2027: $1.40
Effective July 1, 2027: $2.20
We also delivered proposals to make our workplaces more equitable and democratic, including a policy to more fairly compensate Courtesy Clerks and another to make PCC implement the shift-bidding system we won in our last contract so that workers can opt-in to available shifts.
“Leadership justifies offering the bare minimum by comparing PCC to its competitors! Why is Management trying to meet industry standards rather than trying to beat them?” — Greg Brooks, Burien PCC
To reclaim our co-op, we need to show PCC’s administrators how united we are in our fight for better wages, sustainable staffing solutions, better health care and retirement benefits, and more career advancement opportunities for all.
