Macys Furniture Gallery MOU Ratified

Memorandum of Understanding ratified!

Earlier this year, Macy’s made the business decision to close the Budget Clearance House work location, where members of UFCW Local 3000 worked.

Given these circumstances, our union entered effects bargaining with the company and came to an Agreement on a Memorandum of Understanding (“M.O.U.”) which would provide the impacted employees with certain layoff, transfer, and severance pay rights. This Memorandum required a vote by membership to approve. Details of the memorandum include:

  • Budget Clearance House workers can apply for transfers to open positions in other locations covered by the current CBA. Transfers will be offered in seniority order, with placement occurring at the end of the Budget House Clearance Center closure (or earlier by mutual agreement.)

  • Severance Pay calculated at a certain number of weeks earnings, based on years of service at Macy’s

  • Payment for unused vacation and personal days.

On June 18, workers voted to approve the Memorandum of Understanding. Worker’s with any questions are encouraged to reach out to your Union rep Aaron Bailey at 206-436-6631
