Grand Central Bakery Tentative Agreement Reached!
/Our Union Bargaining Team: Amelia (Burien) Fianna (Eastlake), Amanda (Wallingford), and Emi (Wedgwood).
Grand Central Bakery workers came together in November 2025, and we overwhelmingly won our union election by 86% and now after months of bargaining, we are proud to have fought for a great first contract. When we came together and organized, we knew some of the biggest issues were low wages, inconsistent hours, and unpredictable scheduling. Our coworkers knew that something had to change and so we agitated, educated, and organized! This tentative agreement is emblematic of months of hard work to demand industry-changing standards.
Now is the time to make our voice heard — this vote is open to members in good standing at UFCW 3000’s Grand Central Bakery locations
Our Bargaining Team fully recommends a YES vote, which includes:
Raises for all workers with guaranteed wage increases for each year of the contract
14-hour shift differential — preventing “clopening” shifts
3 days of paid Bereavement leave
Schedules 3 weeks in advance
Hazard pay for working in some inclement weather
Just cause and grievance protections for workers that may be disciplined or terminated
Baker premiums, including on prep shifts
Protections from misgendering or deadnaming
Strong Labor Management Committee (LMC) language, creating more opportunities to engage with management over workplace issues
$20 reimbursement for ORCA transit cards
2 consecutive days off if you work more than 4 shifts a week
Structure for temporary work assignments in alternate classifications
And much more!
