Providence Centralia Service MOVING FORWARD
/Last week on August 15, we had our first bargaining session with Providence and came to the table prepared to pass many initial proposals. We shared with hospital Leadership our concerns around hours and wages and the difficulties many of us face around having to make decisions between necessities like housing, food, and transportation. Other topics of discussion included 36 hours per week FTEs, new employee orientation, equity and inclusion, overtime, and extra shifts. Our team returns to bargaining on September 23 and 30- stay tuned!
“We feel like they listened and that our first session was a step forward in the right direction. Both sides bargained in good faith and were responsive to each other, not reactive. We are hopeful to see what the next date brings- over the next month, join us in wearing your Union stickers and colors to show solidarity!” —Our Union Bargaining Team: Dorys Sanders, Steven Tifft, Candace Hubbard, Brionna Stone, and Kim Jorgensen
One of the most powerful tools we have is to share our stories.
If there is an issue you care deeply about or would like to have addressed at bargaining, please think about how you have been impacted and reach out to a member of the Bargaining Team or Union Representative Kiambo White at 206-436-6515.
