Metropolitan Market Bargaining Update

Metropolitan Market Bargaining Committee: Felicity Hossner (Sand Point), Kelly Shaffer (Uptown), Dan Howes (Crown Hill), Tori Nakamatsu-Figaroa (Uptown), Bill Graves (Crown Hill) not pictured, Maggie Baze (Mercer Island)

On July 14, 2025 our Metropolitan Market bargaining team (made up of rank and file workers), met with Metropolitan Market management to pass our initial proposals for a successor contract. Some of the key issues we’re fighting for include:

  • Minimum guaranteed hours for part and full time employees

  • Living wage increases that maintain our pay above the area grocery agreements for both journeypersons and apprentices

  • Strong immigration protections and better investments in workforce development

Contract Action Team Meeting: July 29 at 6pm

Get involved in winning our strongest contract ever by joining your store’s Contract Action Team (CAT). Reach out to a bargaining team member, shop steward, or your union representative to join. We will be holding an all-store online CAT meeting on July 29 at 6pm:
