Kaiser Permanente is making decisions that directly impact how we do our jobs and live our lives.
/Kaiser Permanente is making decisions that directly impact how we do our jobs and live our lives. First, there were restrictions on union access to worksites, making it harder for us to support the workers we represent. That move took us by surprise, and we filed a grievance to challenge it. After several conversations and working in partnership we have been able to work through this issue using interest based conversations.
Kaiser is now restructuring, resulting in changes that will cut hours across pharmacy, imaging, lab and respiratory sleep clinicians without collaboration or input from union workers. Instead of following the agreed upon process for these types of changes, they dropped this on us, leaving us scrambling to understand what this means for our schedules, income, and job security.
This is about job security, income protection, and our fundamental right to have a say in decisions that affect us. Our agreements are supposed to ensure that major changes happen transparently, fairly, and with worker input. When Kaiser disregards those agreements, it erodes trust and undermines the stability that workers depend on.
UFCW 3000 has reminded Kaiser that we need to work in partnership to keep Kaiser sustainable with minimal impact on workers.
We’ve already proven that when we stand together, we can push back and win. But if we don’t hold Kaiser accountable now, what’s stopping them from making even more unilateral changes in the future? This fight isn’t just about today—it’s about protecting the rights we fought for and ensuring that Kaiser follows the process we agreed on.
We’re ready to take action. Is Kaiser ready to listen?
Stay United – Kaiser made this decision without us—let’s show them the strength of workers standing together.
Show Up and Speak Out – Attend union meetings, share your experiences, and make sure Kaiser hears directly from the workers impacted by these changes.
Demand Accountability – We are filing grievances and disputes to challenge Kaiser’s actions—stand with us to ensure they follow our agreements.
Prepare for Bargaining – These cuts are a reminder of why we need to be ready.
