Sea Wolf Bakers Bargaining Update

Our Union Bargaining Team (Left to Right): Frankie Hull, Delivery Driver; Sophia Cerreta, Savory & Bread Departments; Miller Hammond, Barista; [Not pictured]: Haley Rydberg, Bread & Pastry Departments

Our Bargaining Team met with Sea Wolf Management on May 13. We were able to continue to achieve Tentative Agreements on many non-economic items, including but not limited to:

  • A Labor-Management Committee, so that we can collaboratively address workplace issues with Management in the future.

  • Language acknowledging that Union activity is protected in the contract.

  • The duration of the contract.

We were also able to have a candid conversation with the Employer about economics. They gave us detailed information on their profits and losses and requested an idea of our top economic priorities. That said, we are awaiting an economic counterproposal from the Employer and look forward to holding a Contract Action Team meeting soon for all Sea Wolf Union members to deepen the conversation on what we are seeking regarding wages, health insurance, and other benefits. Please stay tuned for notice of a CAT meeting at the end of May!

Our next bargaining session will be May 20, and we look forward to continuing the progress we have made so far.

“While we were glad to get a detailed sense of the economic challenges the Employer faces, we hope we can get specific counter-proposals in the next few sessions so we can also get a sense of how to respond to their position on these issues.”- Frankie
