Metropolitan Market Contract Votes Scheduled!

Member Bargaining Team Recommends a YES Vote!

Through months of negotiations and direct actions like leafleting and wearing buttons, our Union Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement with Metropolitan Market. Our tentative agreement sets a standard for investments in wages, hours, and training at grocery stores. The Employer and our Union built a contract that makes significant improvements above area competitors, including:

  • Guaranteed hours for the grocery contract (60 hours per month for all members)

  • Strong journeyperson wage increases

  • Health and Pension funding that see no benefit cuts

  • New wage escalator progression steps for those not on the journeyperson step

  • Classification changes in the meat department to bring more workers to higher wages

  • Training programs that significantly invest in professional development opportunities for workers in grocery and meat

Our union member bargaining team reached a Tentative Agreement and recommends a YES vote to accept the proposal from Metropolitan Market.

All members in good standing are eligible to vote.
