Harbor Regional Health Professional, Technical, Service & Maintenance, Medical Records, Business Office BARGAINING HAS BEGUN!
/After reviewing your surveys and meeting with other workers to talk about how we can strengthen our contract, we had our first bargaining session with HRH Management on Tuesday March 11. During this all day session, we made proposals on new contract language including:
Staffing/ Hospital Staffing Committee
Student Coordinators.
Union Representatives and access at HRH.
New Employee Orientation pay for Steward Reps that attend.
We understand that one of the biggest issues at Harbor Regional Health is staffing and short-staffing. The Hospital Staffing Committee is a team of workers who meet regularly to plan and review the staffing plan and problems/solutions with staffing for the hospital. This committee has historically included nurses and management representatives only, but recent changes to Washington State law provide for inclusion of other workers in jobs including LPNs and CNAs/NACs and other direct patient care workers. This change creates an opportunity for us to participate in the staffing process that directly affects our work.
Our next bargaining session is planned for Friday March 28th. We are working on proposals to present to management at this next bargaining session to address wages, premiums, and other economic priorities.
