Fresenius We showed up but Management did NOT

Our bargaining team continues negotiations with Fresenius management, who came in-person after two virtual sessions. We came ready to work; however, management took a different approach.

  • Fresenius finally responded to our multiple language proposals that included:

  • Patient scheduling times (increasing time between on/off appointments)

  • Low census rotation (sending volunteers and agency/travelers home first)

  • Preceptors (only precepting after training has been completed)

  • Just cause (reducing escalation for unrelated disciplines)

  • Workplace immigration protections (protocols for keeping workers safe)

Management rejected everything we proposed, stating that the company was “happy” with the contract bargained back in 2017.

Our team stood strong and proposed we take time on the second in-person day to teach them exactly how the scheduling practices (which they’re so confident in) translates into our patients’ real-world experiences. Since none of management’s team has any experience as a PCT, it proved pretty enlightening for all of us. We hope to continue to build a case for safer patient scheduling at our next session June 20.

“We were disappointed but not surprised by Fresenius’ response. We need to stand together to advocate for ourselves and our patients.” – Maria Lucas
