Planned Parenthood Bargaining Update

We’re thinking about Planned Parenthood’s future and about Planned Parenthood’s TODAY

“Leadership has heard our concerns for safety, equity, and longevity. I am grateful for their willingness to listen and respond to our lived experiences, and I hope the conversations had at the table will continue well past bargaining. The contract we are working for allows us to keep showing up to do this work, safer and stronger for our patients and one another. I encourage us all to stay engaged, join the next action call, reach out to the bargaining team, and message Charlie. This is the time to share directly with leadership what is needed for us to stay showing up - for Planned Parenthood of the future, but also for Planned Parenthood right here, right now, today. See y’all August 4th at 5:30pm on Zoom!” —Mackenzie Weiland

Your bargaining team met with management for a two-day session and we got all proposals on the table including wages. Management responded to language pieces, but not to wage proposals yet.

The conversation on safety and security concerns was informative. We all realize that there is no one-size-fits-all solution on safety and security. Follow-up is needed and management pledged to continue engaging around ongoing health and safety concerns.

Feelings were mixed after the first day. By the end of day two, we regained confidence that this team is capable of working with Planned Parenthood leadership to win a stronger contract that addresses clinic safety and patient scheduling. We’re still wary of how management will respond to our proposals at the August sessions, but we are united, and we’d love your support in the meantime.  Please wear your Union pride swag at work and join the next CAT meeting on Aug 4 at 5:30pm on zoom.
