Our Union Bargaining Team reconvened with Covington Medical Center management Wednesday January 21 for our first bargaining session of 2026 and our seventh overall. We commend management for coming to the table prepared for the first time.

We presented the bulk of our proposals in December and have been awaiting a substantial response during the last few sessions. Today, we received that response. As expected, our team’s response was less than enthusiastic. While the team was not satisfied with Management’s first substantive counter proposals, we finally have groundwork we can improve on. We can now get down to the real back and forth of negotiations. We have multiple dates scheduled and are looking forward to making real progress toward a fair contract.

Join our team in wearing our union pins (and taking pictures together, like our surgical team!) to show solidarity in our contract fight! Please reach out to your Rep Penny Cramer or a bargaining team member for more information or to get union pins or stickers.

We are looking forward to responding during our next session on Thursday, January 29.
