PCC’s Union Bargaining Team Endorses Errol Schweizer for Board of Trustees
/Errol Schweizer
The voting period for PCC’s annual Board of Trustees elections opened yesterday, and your PCC Bargaining Team proudly endorses Errol Schweizer for the role.
Errol is a pro-union candidate with decades of experience in grocery and retail, including working as the VP of Grocery for Whole Foods. He believes in the power of co-ops to run thriving businesses while respecting workers and treating unions in good faith.
We'd be thrilled to have him join our board, instead of a senior executive from an anti-union company who could erode our co-op values even further.
As you may have heard, REI workers have been fighting for a first contract for the last four years, but that co-op isn't living up to its values, either.
Since the beginning, they've run a vicious union busting campaign. Our union filed more than 175 Unfair Labor Practice charges against REI, and the National Labor Relations Board issued complaints about the company firing dozens of union supporters and taking away raises and bonuses from union stores.
Now, REI Executive Susan Viscon is running to serve as a trustee on our board.
Not on our watch. We need to stand together and say loudly and proudly: No union busting on PCC's board!
Make your voice heard by voting now.
Voting closes April 28 at 5 pm PDT.
Please spread the word to your coworkers and reach out with any questions.
In solidarity,
Your PCC Bargaining Team
