Our big picture goal remains unchanged

Our big picture goal remains unchanged

Workers organizing each other in our communities and workplaces for a better future and taking on the politics of greed and the self-interest of the wealthy. We know that working people need political leadership that does more than just defend against things becoming worse.

UFCW 3000 members continue to face grocery and hospital monopolies, job automation, low wages, and unsafe staffing; neither political establishment – controlled by the billionaire class – has the vision to change these realities.

We are done with the politics of defense. We are done with the politics of excuses. We need to pass laws that improve the lives of the working class, we need to take direct action and prepare to strike to improve our workplaces, and we need to organize hundreds of thousands of workers into unions. In that, our work is no different today than it was yesterday.

Washington State elected many pro-worker candidates up and down the ballot, from Governor to city council races. Now, we must hold every politician accountable to fight against the billionaire-class and fight for the working-class.

As organizers, we may win and lose campaigns – but our dedication to demanding a more just future is unwavering.

If you do not have a union, now is the time to join one.

Also, because there are some elections that are still in process and very close, we will be doing ballot curing in Pierce County, WA and Yakima County, WA. If you’d like to engage with that work, email politics@ufcw3000.org
