Mason Health Bargaining Update

Our union Bargaining Team has been working on a new contract that provides competitive wages to keep the skilled workers we currently have and recruit new workers.
Management recently proposed changing percentages between steps on the wage scale which would mean different wage and step increases depending on the step someone is at. Their proposal did not raise wages significantly for most positions.
Our Bargaining Team responded with a proposal which includes significant wage increases for all positions which will keep Mason Health competitive. We also provided Management with up-to-date wage scales from other hospitals, to show them the wages workers should be paid. They were receptive and we anticipate their economic response during our next session.
We are scheduled to bargain again on Wednesday August 7.
