On Friday, November 21, our member-led Bargaining Team sat across the table from PCC for the second time in this contract cycle. We delivered our first round of proposals, which included weekly guaranteed hours, the creation of a centralized scheduler position to improve our shift-bidding system, additional discounts for staff, a limitation on sub-contracting deli, cut fruit, and meat products, plus language on racial justice trainings and immigration protections.
Our priorities:
Better wages and more profit-sharing
More career advancement opportunities and better benefits
Prioritize customer service by investing in sustainable staffing
We left the table awaiting PCC’s response and scheduled our next round of bargaining for December 9 and 10. If you would like to observe the bargaining process, please use this form to RSVP >>
Building Power
Join us for Contract Action Team (CAT) meetings the first full week of December. >>
At CAT meetings, our union members work together to plan actions and build pressure to support the bargaining process. These meetings help keep the membership active, informed, and united so that we come to the table each session with the full strength of our co-workers behind us.
At our December CAT meetings, we will begin work on our contact log, which is a phone log that is activated to move your store into action.
“At the bargaining table, we’re fighting for a contract that reflects true co-op values: good wages, strong health care, secure retirements, and staffing that puts people over profit.” — Scott Shiflett
