Metropolitan Market Time to take our message to the streets!

Our Union had sent Metropolitan Market what we believed was a comprehensive proposal that would get us to a tentative agreement ready for a ratification vote of membership. Our bargaining committee worked hard to achieve a contract timeline where we could get coworkers raises and retroactive pay during the holidays this year. While we believed we met the Employer on key issues, knowing that we’re back at the bargaining table in about a year – Metropolitan Market was unable to agree to the comprehensive proposal, needing additional time to consider what we believed we already had an agreement on.  

Our bargaining committee knows that our coworkers need their raises this holiday season and we want Metropolitan Market to stop dragging their feet on reaching a tentative agreement and allow us to schedule a contract ratification vote.  

Join a leaflet with your coworkers this Thursday and Friday, to ask for our customers support in this final stretch of our contract bargain. If you have any questions about how to participate in a leaflet, reach out to one of your bargaining committee members or your union representative. Once we reach a tentative agreement with Metropolitan Market, we will send a notice our for our contract vote.
