Capital Medical Center RN Bargaining Begins!

May 27 marked the first day at the bargaining table, and our union bargaining team showed up prepared, focused, and ready to fight for the contract we deserve.

We started by presenting a non-economic proposal—focused on cleaning up outdated and unclear contract language. Management reviewed our proposal and returned with a few tentative agreements (TAs) where we were able to find common ground.

But let’s be clear—this is just the beginning. The real fight starts now.

Our bargaining team is already working hard on proposals that tackle the issues that matter most to you:

  • Safe staffing levels

  • Patient ratios that reflect the real demands of the work

  • Stronger low census protections

  • Competitive wages and benefits that retain and recruit RNs

These aren’t just contract issues—these are quality of care issues. They impact nurse’s daily work, patients’ safety, and our ability to do our jobs.

We’re committed to fighting for improvements that reflect the reality of what we face every day on the floor. But we can’t do it alone—we need you in this fight with us.
