Broadcast Coffee Bargaining Update

On July 2, our Union Bargaining Team met with the Employer to kick off negotiations for our first union contract. After we made our first proposal in joint session, when both our Union and the Employer meet in the same space to exchange formal proposals, it was apparent that Management was not prepared to bargain or even discuss our proposals. We left the table without a response to the contract language we worked on but wrapped up Day 1 having made positive progress towards our preparation for future sessions.

We’ll be returning to the bargaining table during the last week of July. We hope (and expect!) that Management will come prepared to respond to our proposals and engage in conversation so we can be efficient and productive in this process.
