Providence St. Peter Professionals Tentative Agreement Reached!
/Following a nearly seventeen hour bargaining session with Management- beginning Monday, November 10 and concluding after midnight on Tuesday the 11- our union Bargaining Team representing the Professionals at Providence St. Peter Hospital are proud to announce that we have reached a fully recommended tentative agreement on our first union contract!
Because we had to start from the ground up; constructing an entire Collective Bargaining Agreement ranging from the recognition of our new union to all of our wages, hours, and working conditions, so much hard work was dedicated by our Bargaining Team to achieve these results.
To read through our full first contract offer, we encourage all Professionals at Providence St. Peter Hospital to attend our scheduled ratification vote meeting on:
Contract Vote Scheduled
Tuesday, November 25 from 6am—2pm in the Providence St. Peter Hospital Nisqually Conference Room
Our final agreement is composed of dozens of individual Articles, but highlights include:
Just Cause protections; giving us the right to union representation in investigatory meetings & ensuring management must substantiate any corrective action issued
Seniority rights during any potential workplace layoff, unit restructure, or closure
A union wage scale- guaranteeing multiple wage increases for all Professionals throughout each year of our contract! (similarly structured to the Tech & RN contracts at PSPH!)
Placement on the wage scales commensurate our years of relevant experience in healthcare- a historic victory for a first union contract!
