St. Joseph Medical Center Pharmacist Bargaining Update
/On Wednesday, November 5, our union bargaining committee representing the Pharmacists at St. Joseph Medical Center met with Management for our third session of contract negotiations.
Heading into Wednesday’s session, we were hopeful we might receive the Employer’s wage scale proposal, however, we were informed during our first meeting that morning that we would unfortunately be waiting until our next-scheduled session to do so, as Management were still finalizing their wage proposal. In the meantime, we did exchange other economic articles, such as some modifications we’d proposed to the overtime article; a new bonus for employees above the top of the current wage scale; and increases to our continuing education funds.
We also held discussion within our Bargaining Team, and later with the Employer, on forthcoming proposals we expect to make around healthcare and retirement benefits- namely regarding Employer contributions to each respective plan; a proposal which we expect to present to the Employer at our next scheduled bargaining day- Thursday, November 20.
If you have questions about ongoing negotiations, reach out to a member of our union Bargaining Teamor call our union RepIan Jacobson at (206) 436-6550.
