Planned Parenthood Bargaining Begins Soon
/Introducing our union Bargaining Team: Michel Avery, Clinical Trainer I; Alison DeBoise, Insurance Biller I; Shantelle George, Sr. Medical Assistant Phlebotomy; Melissa Grindstaff, Patient Access Representative
Together, our Bargaining Team brings a combined 44 years of experience with Planned Parenthood. We’re ready to navigate these challenging times with our coworkers and negotiate a fair contract that allows us to keep doing the crucial, lifesaving work we do for our patients and communities.
As union workers, we have the opportunity to bargain over wages, hours, and working conditions every three years. Our current contract expires on May 31, 2025. We’re working to schedule our first dates and will send an update when they’re confirmed. In the meantime, participation and communication is key. The bargaining surveys are one of the important tools we use to understand our shared priorities and goals. So far, we’ve gotten 30% of our unit has submitted surveys. This is great! It’s no secret, however that Planned Parenthood workers face ongoing challenges that continue to grow under the new administration.
