St. Michael Medical Center RN We didn’t reach a deal! —INFO PICKET OCTOBER 2!
/On Friday, September 19, our Bargaining Team returned to the table to continue negotiations. Although SMMC warned they might withdraw tentative agreements, they did not remove any of their prior proposals and acknowledged that the bargaining unit rejected their last offer.
After eleven hours of bargaining, we were still unable to reach an agreement. We remain apart on the most critical issues: safety, staffing, and wages.
The Employer continues to say they are committed to safety, but commitment without enforceable measures is not enough. Nurses know that unsafe staffing puts patients at risk and burns us out. We need stronger protections, real staffing improvements, and wages that retain and recruit nurses our community desperately needs.
We will be holding an informational picket on Thursday, October 2, from 3:30pm to 5:00pm on the corner of Myhre Road and Ridgetop Blvd. We look forward to seeing our fellow RNs, friends, family, and community members on our informational picket line! Remember that children and friendly pets are welcomed!

We showed SMMC that we are united by rejecting Management’s offer last week with a supermajority. Let’s keep up this momentum by showing SMMC Leadership that we stand united for our patients and better staffing and safety measures!
