UFCW 3000 Executive Board Unanimously Rejects I-645, Endorses No Vote
/This summer, UFCW 3000’s member-led Executive Board voted unanimously to reject Initiative 645 and to endorse a NO vote.
The initiative would repeal the recently passed Millionaires Tax, giving a tax cut to billionaires and multimillionaires while shifting more costs onto working people.
UFCW 3000 represents nearly 60,000 workers in grocery, health care, food packing and processing, retail, and other industries.
If this initiative passes, our kids will lose free school lunches, our families will lose health care, some of our members will lose tax rebates worth up to $1,300, and sales taxes on essential items such as diapers and over-the-counter medications will rise.

“At a time when workers are struggling to keep up with sky-high prices for groceries, housing, health care, and other basic necessities, we cannot afford to give a tax cut to the wealthiest people in our state,” said Sam Dancy, UFCW 3000 Executive Board Vice President and Grocery Bargaining Team Member.
