Uwajimaya Meat Contract Votes Scheduled!

Member Bargaining Team Recommends a YES Vote!

Through months of negotiations and direct actions like leafleting, our Union Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement with Uwajimaya. Our Tentative Agreement gives us higher than market raises for Journeyperson wage increases, secures our pension & healthcare and makes improvements to benefits such as vacation and sick leave. The Employer and our Union built a contract that makes significant improvements above area competitors, including:

  • Above market Journeyperson wage increase in all classifications with retro pay

  • Health and Pension funding that see no benefit cuts

  • Shorter path to Journey for cutters with larger wage escalator progression steps

  • Improved sick leave accrual outside of Seattle

  • Vacation carry over language (up to 40 hours)

  • Increased investment in workforce development training

  • Voluntary participation in the company 401k plan

  • And much more…

Our Union Member Bargaining Yeam reached a Tentative Agreement and recommends a YES vote to accept the proposal from Uwajimaya.

The complete agreement will be available to review and discuss at the vote.

All members in good standing are eligible to vote.
