Movement at the Table as We Continue Fighting for a Fair Contract
/Our Bargaining Team met with Management and continued working through proposals that matter to members. There was movement on both sides, and while we are still working through key priorities, our team is slowly moving toward an agreement that reflects the value and experience we bring to Evergreen Kirkland every day.
“We had movement on both sides, and we’re slowly working toward an agreement. I’m hopeful that if Management continues to engage with us in a meaningful way, we can reach a fair contract that recognizes the work and experience our members bring every day.” — James Kerr, Bargaining Team Member
Tentative Agreements Reached:
Our team was able to reach tentative agreements on several non-economic proposals, including:
Access to personnel files at any time
Expanded Union Steward leave
Agreement on overtime language related to the timekeeping system
These agreements are important steps forward and there are lots more work to do.
What We Are Still Fighting For:
Year-for-year experience recognition
Strong standby and callback language
Fair and equitable wage increases for everyone
Our next bargaining dates are May 6 and May 27.
Join us for the next Contract Action Team meeting: May 27, 2026 from 5PM – 6PM, Room: TBD
This meeting is an important opportunity to stay informed, talk through next steps, and make sure we are ready to support the Bargaining Team as negotiations continue.
Stay Ready and Stay United!
A strong contract is won when members stand together and show Management that Evergreen Kirkland workers are united around fair wages, respect, and strong contract protections. We will continue to keep members updated as bargaining moves forward.
If you have questions or would like to get more involved, please reach to Union Representative Bruce Le at 206-436-6614.
