Payless Foods
Tentative Agreement Reached, Vote Scheduled For July 17

After meeting with the Employer in June, our Bargaining Team is pleased to announce that we reached a tentative agreement with Payless Foods on a new collective bargaining agreement as of July 2.

This agreement reflects the priorities you identified and the hard work of our Bargaining Team throughout negotiations. We believe this tentative agreement protects the strength of our contract while delivering meaningful improvements for members.

Highlights include:

  • Wage increases that maintain our position as a higher-than-market wage Employer, recognize the value of your work, and help keep our contract competitive.

  • Successorship language that ensures the benefits of our contract remain intact if the store is sold to new ownership.

  • Additional Employer funding to maintain health care benefits, helping preserve the quality and affordability of your health coverage.

  • Protection of our pension, with funding secured to keep our pension plan strong for current and future retirees.

  • Paid time to complete required food handler permits, ensuring members are paid for the time needed to maintain this job requirement.

  • New longevity pay for Courtesy Clerks and Helper Clerks, recognizing the dedication and experience of long-serving workers in these classifications.

  • A shorter wage progression for Meat Cutters, allowing members to reach the top wage rate more quickly.

  • And more!

Our Bargaining Team unanimously recommends approval of this tentative agreement.

UFCW 3000 members in good standing are encouraged to attend a meeting, ask questions, and vote on the contract. Complete details of the agreement will be provided at the ratification vote.
