LabCorp We are ready to push for what we need
/The employer joined us for two bargaining sessions on September 17 and 18. They have hired a new legal counsel who seemingly is trying to set a different, more collaborative tone with our union. We reached Tentative Agreements on several topics, including an Artificial Intelligence Memorandum of Understanding and an Inclusion Memorandum of Understanding to help protect some of our members who are part of marginalized communities.
The employer also finally shared their health insurance proposal, but they have proposed substantial increasing to our premiums in 2027, which we know our members are not okay with. We still have to make progress on wages, which we continue to be extremely far apart from the employer on. Our next bargaining dates are set for October 5, 14,20 and 28.
“We’re hopeful that things will keep progressing, but we need to make sure we are ready to fight for what we are owed.” - Sam McVay
“It has been a breath of fresh air to work with the new lawyer but we are far from where we need to be.” - Serenity MacLennan
Show our union pride
Our Bargaining Team is asking all members to wear union buttons, union lanyards, and/or a yellow shirt on those days to show solidarity with the bargaining unit. To get union swag, talk to a member of our Bargaining Team or reach out to a Union Rep.
We will hold two night-shift actions ahead of our next bargaining dates to talk with you about bargaining and distribute union swag on Friday, October 2 from 11pm to 2am and on Saturday, October 3 from 4:30am to 7am outside James Tower on the sidewalk. Please join us.
Please reach out to our Union Rep David Trujillo 206-436-6606 if you want to help fight for a fair contract.
