Recovery Cafe Progress at the Table— Economics Coming Soon

Our Bargaining Committee has made a lot of progress on non-economic issues, including a big win reaching a tentative agreement on an article addressing Recovery Cafe member harassment of staff. While we are eager to continue bargaining with our Employer, we also want to make sure our coworkers know the aspects of our upcoming economic proposal.
We’ve split up economic contract items and non-economic contract items into separate buckets to ensure we can give attention to non-economic issues before diving into healthcare, retirement, wages, vacation, staffing, and other economic items. This Thursday, October 2, at 7pm we will be holding another membership meeting to review our economic package with fellow union members and discuss the implications of different items.
We’re not yet done with our non-economics either. We are still fighting to ensure everyone gets the union standard of Just Cause for disciplines and termination decisions. This means Recovery Cafe can’t just discipline you because they want to, they have to meet the standard of Just Cause.
