UFCW 3000 Executive Board Members: End the Federal Occupation of Minnesota Now

Workers represented by UFCW 3000 elect a board of rank-and-file members from all industries to lead our union. Board members responded to the surge of federal agents to Minneapolis and elsewhere with calls for the immediate end to the surge and demands for accountability and workplace protections.

“As nurses, our first instinct is to help. Unidentified, masked, federal agents assaulted and then gunned down Alex Pretti in the streets as he attempted to help a woman who federal agents likewise assaulted and pushed to the ground. This abhorrent and despicable abuse of power needs to be properly and independently investigated, and those responsible must be brought to justice.” – Jacob Kostecka, Providence St. Peter

"Masked agents are forcing their way into private homes and businesses without warrants, tear-gassing peaceful protesters, and violating our constitutional rights. That's why we're demanding employers become 4th Amendment businesses by proudly displaying signage barring ICE from our facilities unless they present valid judicial warrants." – Jeff Terpening, Safeway

"Federal agents are targeting places like grocery stores and shattering the daily lives of working people. We can't do our jobs safely when our workplaces feel like occupied territory. We need ICE out of Minneapolis, and we can’t let them come here.” – Scott Shiflett, PCC

"They're racially profiling anyone with an accent—even off-duty police officers. They're arresting people without criminal records, citizens and immigrants with lawful status alike. We must stand up to protect our basic human rights.” – Apple Busaba, Superior Linen

"They're stalking our schools and hospitals—places that should be safe havens for all community members. Our children are terrified, and our neighbors are traumatized. Elected leaders must vote against any additional funding for DHS, and take steps to protect our communities from this overreach.” – Patricia Brown, MultiCare Health System

“One of my family members was abducted and trafficked, and we lived with the fear that we might never see them again. DHS and ICE were the ones who brought them home. That kind of life-saving work takes time, focus, and heart—and it can’t happen when agents are pulled away to police people simply exercising their First Amendment rights. We need the department to prioritize the missions that truly save lives, because no family should have to wonder if their loved one will ever come home.” – Ashely Price, Skagit Regional Health

"This country was built by the contributions of millions of immigrants. I am an immigrant who had a pathway to become a citizen of the United States, but millions of other hardworking, honest people don't have access to the same process I did. Right now, this administration is treating every immigrant as suspected criminals, which is simply not true. Instead of demonizing and brutalizing immigrants, we need to fix our policies and create pathways to citizenship for those who are abiding by our laws. Immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers deserve compassion and dignity, not violence and abuse.” – Kyong Barry, Albertsons

"This isn't about immigration enforcement—it's about oppression. Unions, community organizers, faith leaders, and businesses must unite now to prevent this violence from spreading. We'll keep organizing until peace, safety, and dignity are restored to every community." – Sam Dancy, QFC

"The courage of the people of Minneapolis is inspiring. Their tenacity shows the resolve of working people everywhere. I’m proud to be part of a union that sent staff to support their general strike and that is also preparing to take similar action in Washington state if necessary." – Ana Alvarez, Washington Beef

“Organized labor has been an indispensable part of the resistance to ICE terror in Minneapolis. Our economy doesn’t move without workers, and it is workers who will lead us out of this dark time in our country’s history. Talk to your coworkers. Don’t be afraid, for fear is the fascist’s greatest tool.” – Dan Howes, Metropolitan Market
