Evergreen Health Kirkland Bargaining Begins!
/Our Union Bargaining team: Chris Dizon-Echo Tech, Anna Hennager- RT, James Kerr-Surg Tech, Haley Steenwyk-Microbiology, and Sarah Bussell-Mammo Tech
Our Bargaining Team came to the first session prepared and ready to get to work. On day one, we presented non-economic proposals including clear language on PFML, Union leave for stewards, successorship language that protects our rights in case of a sale or acquisition of hospital,), and more.
While our team showed up ready to move the process forward, the Hospital informed us that they would not respond to anything until they received the full, comprehensive proposal. That approach slows down the bargaining process and raises real concerns about how serious they are about engaging in a timely and productive exchange at the table. We deserve a bargaining process where proposals are discussed, responded to, and moved forward, and not delayed unnecessarily.
Our team is focused, prepared, and committed to pushing this process forward. We are preparing our next round of non-economic and economic proposals to present at our next session on April 3.
As bargaining continues, stay tuned for contract action team meetings to stay informed and actions we will be taking to win a contract that reflects the value, professionalism, and dedication of Evergreen Pro-Tech workers.
