Harbor Regional Health Bargaining Update
/Our Union Bargaining Team: Debi Sturm, Bambi Shope, Eric Timmons, Janet Byrd, Ana Garcia, Daniel James
Our bargaining team has had multiple bargaining sessions with management but we haven’t received a response on any of our economic proposals. We have however received some proposals from management:
Management wants to change the contract to limit the ability of 8 hour workers to pick up a 12 hour shift and get 4 of their hours paid at overtime.
Management wants contract language saying we cannot use PTO when we run out of Sick time.
Management wants a doctor’s note to verify you’ve had a miscarriage in order to get bereavement pay.
We have concerns about Management’s agenda!
Why would anyone agree to pick up a longer shift if they might not get paid overtime?
When we agreed to change from “Vacation” to “PTO” several years ago, it was with the understanding the PTO can be used for anything. Management is proposing once you run out of sick pay you get nothing, even if you have PTO available.
We want to send a strong message to management that we work hard and deserve to be treated with respect. Come to the Contract Action Meeting after bargaining on Monday and find out how we can ensure a good contract!
CONTRACT ACTION MEETING: MONDAY, MAY 5 @ 6:00PM
