Fresenius Medical Care Bargaining Update
/Our Union Bargaining Team (left to right): Jovona Trevino, PCT II, Krista Smith, PCT II, Maria Lucas, PCT II.
First, some good news. Our team and Fresenius management tentatively agreed to add the PCT III job class to the contract, which we’re hopeful will bring fairer pay and job duty distribution. We have also reached a tentative as well as the GO4RN program, which will mean PCTs involved I the GO4RN education program will receive a 5% pay increase for each quarter of the RN program completed. These are substantial commitments to more fairly compensating our hard work.
However, management again presented us a list of rejected proposals. After accusing our team of inflammatory remarks, we were told that management has no interest in including a zero-tolerance harassment policy in our contract. We continue to ask management to follow up on our complaints and communicate with us, so that we know our safety con-concerns are being addressed. Similarly, while Fresenius is still rejecting any contract language on patient scheduling, we urge management to continue a dialogue with us in our clinics about how we can best provide for our patients and communities.
Our next bargaining dates are September 16 and October 3. Sign the petition, join the CAT meeting if you can whether online or in person, and keep wearing your Union Pride at work!

“According to Fresenius, our rights and our desires to be respected and protected by the company’s policies seem inflammatory. We say: let’s show them our strength by signing the petition!” -Maria Lucas, PCT II, bargaining team.
