PCC Tentative Agreement Reached
/Over the last several months, we’ve stickered up, buttoned up, leafleted our stores, attended dozens of Contract Action Team meetings, and educated our customers and coworkers at a massive info picket — all to reclaim our co-op for the workers and members who built it.
And now, after bargaining into the wee hours of the morning on June 11, our worker-elected, member-led Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement with PCC.
“This contract will help create a stronger, more equitable co-op – one that gets PCC closer to living its values – and we’re proud of that.” —Jason Byford, Edmonds PCC
The team fully recommends this agreement, which includes:
Historic wage increases for Grocery/Deli Clerks and Meat Cutter/ Wrappers, and wage increases for Helper Clerks inside and outside of Seattle to bring all stores closer to wage parity
Full backpay at the top of the scale for Grocery/Deli Clerks, Meat Cutters, Meat Wrappers, and Helper Clerks
Increased premiums for Night Crew and Coordinators
Better protections and job security for all workers at PCC who might be targeted by ICE or who may need to deal with immigration-related issues
A stronger and more democratic Labor Management Committee with representatives from every store
Double the Employer contribution to our training fund and a commitment to explore the development of additional training programs, supporting career advancement for all
Maintaining our high-quality health care with affordable employee premiums, low deductibles, and low max out-of-pocket expenses
Secure retirement with ongoing funding that increases with every wage increase
And more!
