Sea Wolf Bakers Bargaining Update

Our Union Bargaining Team (Left to Right): Sophia Cerreta, Savory & Bread Departments; Frankie Hull, Delivery Driver; Miller Hammond, Barista; Haley Rydberg, Bread & Pastry Departments

On Tuesday, April 29, our Bargaining Team met with Management for our third bargaining session. We are excited to report we reached further Tentative Agreements on:

  • A designated Union bulletin board in the workplace.

  • Most of our proposed language defining how seniority would be applied in the event of potential layoffs and if laid off employees were later recalled to work.

  • Nearly all our suggested terms which would spell out how formal workplace grievances and arbitration hearings (if needed) would be processed in the event a worker or group of workers felt that our Union contract had been violated.

  • The duration of the Union contract we are negotiating (three years from the date we ratify it by a majority vote.)

Other items we had productive conversations about included:

  • Application of the existing masking policy.

  • Labor Day 2025 scheduling.

  • The “introductory period” for new employees (sometimes called a “trial period”).

  • Indoor safety regarding worksite temperatures.

Additionally, we have responses on other items we will finalize before our next bargaining date with Management on May 13.

If you have questions or concerns about the bargaining process, please call Union Representative Allison Hanley at 206 436 6586 and leave a voicemail with a few suggested times she may be able to call you back.
