The Employer has tentatively agreed on several great items; however, they are not hearing us on wages. Our team is still going strong and actively countering to work towards a fair agreement that includes a wage scale that will recruit and retain our skilled labor.

Our union Bargaining Team met with the Employer on October 23. Negotiations are still in progress. The Employer came back and tentatively agreed to some items, but we are still waiting for their counter on several others. We’ll share another update once we have more movement. Our next bargaining sessions are November 7 and 14.

On Wednesday May 31 members voted overwhelmingly to approve a new union contract!
This contract includes:
Wage increases for all employees,
including those paid above the wage scale.
$900 Bonus
One additional personal day for a total of five days.
Additional employer contribution to the 401K.
NEW Meal and Rest Periods language.
Extended time for Bereavement Leave.

After two bargaining sessions, Management says everyone is happy and nothing needs to be improved.
When our Bargaining Team proposed increasing the number of paid holidays, Management said they were not interested.
We deserve higher pay, but Management says:
“We are paying higher than the contract, so don’t need to change wages by very much.”

After months of trying to get dates on the calendar, Bargaining Team Members met with Management and gave a full contract proposal including increases to wages and additional vacation and holidays.
Management seemed receptive and we anticipate a response from them soon!
