PRMCE RNs TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED

Bargaining Team Recommends A Yes Vote

Our Union Bargaining Team: Kimball Conlon, Terry Pierce, Carrie Rimel, Juan Stout, Kristen Crowder, Scott Ryan, Stephanie Sausman, Tulena Lammers.

Our Bargaining Team is excited to have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract that will expire September 30, 2029. Our goals this bargaining cycle were to build on the wins from our last contract to address staffing and retention, meal and rest breaks, safety, and explore benefit improvements—all with the goal of retaining the highest skilled nurses to serve our community.

We are proud that we reached a tentative agreement that includes:

  • Market leading wages

  • Removal of all ghost steps

  • Premium pay improvements: Weekend, Charge and Charge Relief, Standby on Call, DNP

  • Simplified and guaranteed access to Education Funds

  • Break Relief pilot and other language to secure proper break coverage

  • Added language for mitigation of Low census

  • Expanded scope of Preceptor and assignments

  • New safety language and protections against workplace violence

  • Added Floats to Skills Departments

  • Expanded bereavement leave to include loss of pregnancy and domestic partners

  • And more!

“Our hard work and actions at the last bargain set the tone for this contract negotiation cycle. We were prepared and it was a respectful process. We must continue to organize and build power over the next few years to secure improvements across the Providence system in future negotiations.” —Juan Stout, Emergency Dept.

“We fought hard for language around meal and rest breaks. Now the torch is passed to every nurse to report missed breaks and short staffing when it occurs on our units. We must educate each other and feel empowered enough to report- it is our right.” —Our Bargaining Team
