PCC Workers Fighting for Wages, Worker Democracy, & Immigrant Rights!

On Jan 26 and 27, our member-led Bargaining Team returned to the table with PCC and made progress on many non-economic issues.

We reached the following Tentative Agreements:

  • A premium increase for workers on the night shift.

  • All job descriptions shall be available for review, which gives us more power to enforce the rights in our contract.

Our Bargaining Team proposed:

  • Wages (Grocery)

  • Year 1 (effective Jan 1, 2026): $4

  • Year 2 (effective Jan 1, 2027): $4

  • Wages (Meat)

  • Year 1 (effective Jan 1, 2026): $5

  • Year 2 (effective Jan 1, 2027): $4

  • Wages escalators and one apprentice scale for all, plus longevity pay for clerks and helper clerks after 10 years.

  • Fully funding our health care and retirement benefits.

  • A shift-bidding system to pick up more hours at three stores of your choosing.

  • A new promotion path for Helper Clerks to become Clerks.

  • A Letter of Understanding on racial and immigration justice that provides safeguards if the federal government deploys agents into any city where PCC does business.

  • Merging the Labor Management Committee (LMC) and the Workers Caucus Committee (WCC) to provide a stronger voice for workers in the LMC.

  • Contributions to WeTrain, plus new apprenticeship programs for Produce, Deli/Bakery/Coffee, and Grocery workers.

We expect PCC to respond with a comprehensive counterproposal on all remaining items when we meet next on Feb 13.

“PCC employees want to be the best-trained organic grocery workers in the region; our employer wants to deskill our jobs and outsource our labor”– Zoe March, Downtown PCC

To reclaim our co-op, we need to show PCC’s administrators how united we are in our fight for better wages, sustainable staffing solutions, better health care and retirement benefits, and more career advancement opportunities for all.
