Macy's ULP Strike Update

We invite all members to attend our informational zoom meeting tonight @ 5PM >>

We will begin our 3-day ULP strike on Black Friday (11/24) at 3:00 AM and will be giving Macy’s notice that we will be ready to return to work beginning Monday 11/27 at Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood and Bellis Fair Mall in Bellingham.

DO I NEED TO CALL OUT FROM WORK BEFORE THE STRIKE?

No, employees are NOT required to notify or inform Macy's management of their absence due to the strike. Moreover, Macy's is prohibited from taking disciplinary action or deducting attendance credits for your involvement in the ULP strike, as it would constitute an unfair labor practice, violating the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). If there are any attempts by management to discipline, or even the threat alone, promptly report the incident to your Picket Captain.

WHEN SHOULD I WALK THE LINE?

We recommend that you walk the strike line about the same time you would work your normal shift, or at the time of your choice if it’s your day off. This will help ensure that we have a strong strike lines throughout the day, especially during mall operating hours.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I REPORT TO THE STRIKE LINE?

When you arrive, please report to your Picket Captain who will be on your worksite’s main strike line wearing an orange vest. Your Picket Captain will have a clipboard that you will use to sign in and out of the strike line so that we can count your hours towards the strike benefit. As a reminder, the strike benefit is $500 for 20 hours (per week or less), or $300 for 12 hours (for our 3-day ULP strike) on the strike line. If you haven't had a chance to complete your W9 for strike benefits you can complete it online today by visiting macysunited.com/strike.

Main Strike Lines:
Bellingham: South Entrance
Alderwood: South Entrance
Southcenter: North Entrance

ARE WE STRIKING THE FURNITURE GALLERIES?

No, we are not striking the furniture galleries at this time. If you are a Furniture Gallery employee you should report to work as usual then, before or after your shift or on your day off, come support your fellow Macy's workers on the strike line at one of the mall locations.

In the event management asks you to cross the picket line and work in a mall location, you should inform your manager that you are invoking your right to not cross the picket line. If your manager persists, comply with their order to avoid discipline, and report the incident to your Union Representative immediately. The incident will then be referred to a UFCW Local 3000 attorney for possible unfair labor practice charges against Macy’s.

CAN HOLIDAY HIRES JOIN THE ULP STRIKE?

Holidays hires that work in the Mall Stores have protection under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) to participate in collective action such as striking. Any Holiday hires who choose to strike will qualify for the same Strike Benefit as all other Macy’s workers who are covered under our agreement so long as they satisfy the requirements for the benefit.  That would include withholding their labor for the duration of the strike, walking the strike line for 12 hours ($300) or 20 hours ($500), and completing a W-9 form.

UFCW 3000 Announces 3-Day Strike at Macy’s Across Western Washington

A group of Macy's workers and supporters at an informational picket earlier this year.

UFCW Local 3000 members at Macy’s have been engaged in contract negotiations with their employer for over 8 months. Over the course of negotiations Macy’s has engaged in unfair labor practices (ULPs) that have interfered with the bargaining process, refused to agree to sensible safety language, and is offering most workers a meager 50 cents annual wage increase all while proposing to eliminate their wage scales.

Workers have had enough, announcing a 3-day unfair labor practice strike that will begin on Black Friday and carry through the busy holiday weekend. Strikes will be held at Union Macy’s stores at Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, and Bellis Fair Mall in Bellingham.

UFCW Local 3000 members across all industries can help striking Macy’s workers by signing up for a shift on the strike line. You can also RSVP to the Macy’s Striking Workers Parade, which will kick off the ULP strike to great fanfare at the Southcenter location on Black Friday!

Strike Shift Sign-Up

Sign up for a shift on the strike line at any of these Union Macy’s:

Macy’s Unfair Labor Practice ULP Strike Update

We will begin our 3-day ULP strike on Friday 11/24 at 3am.We intend to give Macy’s notice of our unconditional return to work beginning at 3am on Monday 11/27. The strike will be focused on all the union Macy's Mall stores, Southcenter Mall, Alderwood Mall and Bellis Fair Mall in Bellingham. We will not be striking the Furniture Galleries. If you are a Furniture Gallery worker, go to work as usual and before or after your shift or on your day off come support your fellow Macy's worker on the strike line at one of the mall locations.

For Mall workers, come to the strike line during the times you would have normally been working. If Friday, Saturday or Sunday would have been your day off, you may participate in the strike at any time during normal Macy’s business hours. Holidays hires that work in the Mall Stores have protection under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) to participate in collective action such as striking. Any Holiday hires who participate in the strike will qualify for the same strike benefit as all other Macy’s workers who are covered under our agreement and participate in the strike.

Check in with the picket captain on shift when you arrive to sign in and be sure to sign out when you leave. This will ensure you get credit for hours on the strike line to qualify for your Strike Benefit. You may walk the line as many hours as you want, but strike benefits are capped at $500 for a minimum 20 hours on the line per week or at $300 for a minimum of 12 hours on the line for the duration of our ULP strike. If you haven't had a chance to complete your W9 for strike benefits you can complete it online today by visiting macysunited.com/strike.

Macy's 3-Day ULP Strike Announced

At a press conference this morning held at Southcenter Mall, UFCW Local 3000 announced that Macy’s workers will be going out on a 3-day unfair labor practice strike starting on Black Friday through Sunday November 26.

“Workers don’t feel safe in our store, and now they are scared of retaliation, so they’ve stopped calling for help when they see a threat. Macy’s needs to step up and make our stores safer for workers and customers. And I’m asking our customers to shop elsewhere this holiday while we are on strike.” — Liisa Luick, Alderwood Mall

“Until Macy’s shows that they respect and value us with better security and better pay, they will lose more workers. I hope our customers will stand with us in this fight and not shop at Macy’s while we are on strike.” — Azia Domingo, Southcenter Mall

UFCW Local 3000 staff will be on the strike line for the entire duration of the strike to answer any questions and ensure everything runs smoothly. We also have other UFCW members and staff from around the United States who have made arrangements to support our fight for a fair contract.

To kick-off our ULP strike there will be the Macy’s Striking Workers Parade at the Southcenter mall on Black Friday @ 9AM. The parade will feature hundreds of supporters from around the community, a speaker line up, and a Cher impersonator just like Macy’s parade in New York City!

We encourage all members to attend an informational zoom meeting tonight (11/17) to learn more about the impending strike and have your questions answered.

What happens with our strike benefit during a 3-day strike?

Members who withhold their labor and walk twenty hours on the picket line during the three days will still earn a $500 strike benefit. However, a new option is available that offers a $300 benefit for members who spend just 12 hours on the picket line instead. While taxes will not be withheld from your strike benefit, members are still required to complete a W-9 form to receive payment.

NO DEAL REACHED with Macy’s. Macy’s Workers, It’s Time to Stand UP.

OUR UNION BARGAINING TEAM: Azia Domingo, Curtisy Bryant, Emily Hunter, Liisa Luick, Nicole Hardin, Sean Embly, Faye Guenther.

Last night, we did not reach a deal and after 3 bargaining sessions, Macy’s refused to in good faith consider bargaining proposals to address our concerns. We remain ready and willing to bargain at any time when Macy’s is ready to bargain in good faith and can send a decision maker to the Bargaining Table.

Next Steps:

  1. Join the press conference on Friday, November 17 at 9 a.m. at the Southcenter Mall or view it at the Facebook Live.

  2. Sign up for at least 20 hours on your store’s Strike Schedule (see your store’s Picket Captains).

  3. Complete a W9 form and return the completed form to a UFCW 3000 Union Representative or complete a W9 online by visiting Macysunited.com/strike to make sure you will get paid your strike benefit.

In the event we do end up on a ULP strike, our Bargaining Team has planned a “Macy’s Striking Workers Parade” action on Black Friday at the Southcenter location that will be supported by community partners and other UFCW 3000 members.

We Are in This Together to Improve Safety and Increase Worker Pay

We need safer workplaces. We need better security. We need to retain our staff. We need better wages to retain staff. Macy’s CEO gets over $11 million per year, while some of us rely on food banks and can’t afford to see the doctor.

Macy's - BARGAINING TODAY!

Our Bargaining Team will meet with Macy’s management again today, November 15, beginning at 2PM and possibly into the night. We have a late start today due to the availability of the federal mediator.

We come today trying to find a path to an agreement that will both improve workers lives by putting more money into our checks, but also creating a safer working environment that addresses the increasing amount of crime in our stores.

However, we come to the table today in the face of continued unfair labor practices from the employer that has frustrated the bargaining process. Such behavior from Macy’s has made it difficult to have honest and fruitful talks with the employer.

Regardless, we are committed to bargaining in good faith today and hope management comes to the table with a similar mindset.

We will keep you updated as the situation develops.

Macy's Know Your Rights

Has your manager threatened to discipline workers who participate in the unfair labor practice (ULP) strike? Perhaps they threatened to mark you down as a no-call no-show, remove attendance credits, or even terminate striking workers?

If so, your manager likely violated federal law and you should notify your Picket Captain and/or Union Representative immediately.

UFCW Local 3000 has been investigating reports of Macy’s managers making illegal and false threats against workers in an attempt intimidate workers into not participating in protected activities such as striking. If these threats are verified, the local will be filing federal charges with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) against Macy’s.

Federal law safeguards workers participating in protected concerted activities, such as a legal strike, from any retaliation by management. This protection explicitly prohibits management from disciplining workers (e.g., removing attendance credits) who join our increasingly likely ULP strike.

Furthermore, federal law prohibits management from making threatening or intimidating statements intended to discourage workers from participating in the strike. Even if management is unlikely to carry out these illegal threats, the mere act of making such threats is, in itself, against the law.

If the reports Local 3000 have been receiving turn out to be true, then this is further evidence of Macy’s engaging in unfair labor practices, hindering the bargaining process. The best way to fight against their behavior is to continue preparing for an unfair labor practice strike!

Shoppers have pledged not to shop at Macy’s if we go on strike!

A petition has been circulating throughout the community to support our fight for a fair contract.

Macy's Week of ULP Strike Preparations

Next week is very important as we intensify our preparations for the increasingly likely unfair labor practice strike around Black Friday. By the end of next week, it is imperative that we finalize all ULP strike logistics and ensure that every member is prepared to meet the criteria for the $500 weekly strike benefit. This entails signing up for 20 hours on the picket line and submitting a completed W-9 form, which Union Representatives will start collecting next week.

WHAT IS A W-9?

A W-9 is an IRS tax document used to report your strike benefit as income to the IRS. Although taxes won’t be withheld from your strike benefit, the W-9 is a required IRS tax document used to document that you’ve received payment from UFCW Local 3000. To be eligible for the strike benefit, you must provide a completed W-9 form.

While we have added November 15 as an additional bargaining date, we are not slowing down or altering our plans for a ULP strike. Macy’s can only avoid the ULP strike by addressing unfair labor practices and offering a fair contract.

It’s up to you Macy’s - the clock is ticking.

Downtown Dog Lounge - Negotiations go on!

Downtown Dog Lounge
Negotiations go on!

Downtown Dog Lounge Management and legal council met with our union Bargaining Team and continued back and forth on both parties proposals. Management didn’t budge on many of their original positions and maintained their stance on a majority of their initial concepts. Our Team made movement on dog benefits, dress code, and vacation.

We hope Management comes back to the table next week able and willing to make progress.

Macy's NO DEAL. ULP STRIKE PREPARATIONS CONTINUE

NO DEAL. ULP STRIKE PREPARATIONS CONTINUE

Our Bargaining Team met with Management again on November 6 and 7, with the parties failing to reach an agreement.

While our team worked hard to address some of Macy’s core concerns, we did not receive a proposal from the Employer. However, we did have a productive discussion about potential paths to an agreement and agreed to add November 15 as a bargaining date.

Throughout the bargaining process we have come to the table in good faith while we feel Macy’s has done their best to frustrate the process, including their intimidation of a bargaining team members for their union activity along with attempting to prematurely declare an impasse, which would permit the employer to implement the contract offer we rejected on October 6. We believe that actions taken in bargaining are inconsistent with impasse.

Then just last week Macy’s made what we believe is an illegal attempt to alter our contractual right and long standing the practice of Union Representatives to communicate with members on the sales floor, leading to UFCW Local 3000 filing another unfair labor practice charge against the employer.

  1. As we prepare for next week’s bargaining date, we need to continue to prepare for a possible ULP strike by:

  2. Signing up for at least 20 hours on your stores Strike Schedule (see your stores Picket Captains).

Completing a W9 form and returning the complete form to a UFCW 3000 Union Representative to make sure you will get paid your strike Benefit of $500.

In the event we do end up on a ULP strike, our Bargaining Team has planned a “Macy’s Striking Workers Parade” action on Black Friday at the Southcenter location that will be supported by community partners and other UFCW 3000 members.

WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER!

UFCW Locals from around the United States have pledged their support, coordinating efforts to send their staff and members to the Pacific Northwest to walk our ULP strike line, and over 8,000 community members have also signed a petition pledging not to cross our picket line in the event of a ULP strike.

Macy’s PICK YOUR STRIKE SCHEDULE TODAY!

In preparation for a possible unfair labor practice (ULP) strike over the holidays, members are now able to begin selecting strike schedules.

In order to be eligible for strike benefits, members are required to put in a minimum of 20 hours per week on the picket line. As a reminder, the UFCW Local 3000 strike benefit is set at $500 for the first week and, if a longer ULP strike is deemed necessary, the benefit increases to $750 for the second week and beyond.

Your Picket Captains and Union Representatives will be equipped with schedule booklets, which is where you can pick your preferred strike shifts. Strike shifts are broken into 4 hour chunks, so we ask that you select five (5), four (4) hour shifts and commit to walking the strike line during your selected shifts.

You have the option to sign up for more than one shift per day or spread your schedule across the week. It is advisable to choose shifts that align as closely as possible with your regular Macy’s work schedule. Preferred shift times may fill up quickly, so don’t delay selecting your shifts!

While we are actively preparing for a ULP strike, it’s important to note that we are also making every effort to avoid it. We have negotiations scheduled with the Employer on November 6 & 7, and our Bargaining Team is dedicated to good faith negotiations with Macy’s as the parties continue to work towards an agreement.

However, if Macy’s does not return to the table in good faith, we will proceed with our strike preparations. Stay tuned for another update next week.

Why we strike: Q and A

A strike isn't just a halt in our work; it's a collective stand for our rights and the well-being of our patients. According to federal law, we have the right to strike, but we must give the hospital a 10-day notice to ensure patient care isn't compromised.

The prospect of a strike isn't just a last resort; it's a powerful tool that can drive change. It forces Providence to reconsider its stance and acknowledge our proposals. The mere threat of a strike can be as influential as the strike itself, but for it to be effective, we must show that we are united and ready to take action.

The initial step involves voting for strike authorization, allowing our nurse bargaining team to initiate a strike. Throughout negotiations, our team assesses the strike's potential impact. There might be instances where a strike is averted as our team deems a ratifiable contract agreement achievable. Strikes fall into two categories: economic and unfair labor practice (ULP). Economic strikes center around concerns like wage increases proposed by the Employer. In contrast, ULP strikes address issues such as the Employer's involvement in unfair labor practices, such as bargaining in bad faith.

The strike's main goal is to pressure the Employer to accept our proposals. In an economic strike, we stay on strike until a tentative contract agreement is achieved. Then, we resume work and vote on the agreement. During a ULP strike, we strike for a designated period. In both situations we will ask to engage in ongoing contract negotiations with the aim of securing a tentative agreement, and subsequently resume work and then hold a vote on the agreement.

Having an updated email, cell phone, and address is vital to making sure you receive updates and vote notices. Your address on file is where the Union will mail Strike benefit checks.

Make sure your contact information is updated with the Union! >>

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WILL I RECEIVE PAY WHILE ON STRIKE?

The Executive Board of UFCW 3000 will vote on strike benefits for nurses who take part in strike duty. Strike benefits will not fully replace our wages but will help. They have approved strike benefits of $500 for nurses, members and non-members, who picket a minimum 20 hours a week. Our Union also has a hardship fund to assist members whose families face particularly difficult financial situations. Additionally, food assistance and other financial assistance may be available through community organizations and other unions. Notify your creditors prior to falling behind. Communicate your situation and explore options for reduced payments or refinancing. Prioritize your expenses, placing essentials like mortgage/ rent, utilities, insurance, car payments, gas, child support, and alimony at the top.

WHAT IF THE EMPLOYER LOCKS US OUT?

If the employer chooses to lockout nurses they have to lockout all nurses including non-union members. Workers locked out by their employers are generally eligible for unemployment benefits. The Employment Security Department will determine eligibility for unemployment benefits on a case by case basis.

WILL I STILL HAVE HEALTHCARE BENEFITS DURING THE STRIKE?

There is a lag month under your insurance plan that would keep your insurance through the end of the month.

HOW LONG WOULD A STRIKE LAST?

The duration of a strike is a strategic decision made by the bargaining team. The 10-day notice given to the Employer would likely be for a 3 or 5 day ULP Strike. The key to a successful strike is a united work force and support from our allies and the patients in the community.

I AM A REPRESENTED BY UFCW 3000, DO I HAVE TO STRIKE? HOW MANY WORKERS WILL IT TAKE FOR A STRIKE TO BE EFFECTIVE?

A large active picket line is vital to a successful strike. Every nurse needs to participate—members of UFCW 3000 or not—to prevent the facility from operating as usual. The more nurses we have out on the line, the harder it is for people to cross it. Being at the picket is also the best way to get the latest information on how the strike is going and to show the community that healthcare workers are united in the strike.

WHAT IF I CHOOSE NOT TO STRIKE? WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF CROSSING THE PICKET LINE?

There are no sanctions imposed on nurses who cross the picket line or choose not to strike. Crossing a picket line will undermine our attempts as nurses to provide a better framework for the future growth of our profession and achieve our negotiating goals. It also erodes the camaraderie in the workplace, prolongs the strike, and negatively impacts our efforts to work as a team once the strike is settled.

WILL I BE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY MY MANIGER IF I DECIDE TO STRIKE?

No, you will not be required to individually notify your manager. Our Union will be providing strike notice to the Hospital if our bargaining committee decides to invoke a strike. If you feel compelled to give them an answer tell them, “Yes I will be striking and standing with my bargaining team’s decision to strike.”

Macy's Bargaining Dates Scheduled

Our Bargaining Team has confirmed November 6 & 7 as the next scheduled bargaining dates with Macy’s, marking our first meeting with the employer since an overwhelming 96% of our workers voted to authorize a unfair labor practice strike.

Initially, Macy’s was hesitant to add additional dates to the calendar. After sharing the results of our vote and proposing our next bargaining date, Macy’s responded they already provided their last best and final offer and have “no further proposals” and alleged that negotiations had reached an impasse.

The threat of an “impasse” is an aggressive step, signaling that the employer believes that talks have broken down, all avenues toward an agreement explored, and both parties are unable to make further moves. If a true impasse has been reached, it would allow Macy’s to implement their last offer without seeking the membership’s vote.

Macy’s response was frustrating, as it implies management’s wish to impose a contract offer that worker resoundingly rejected. Although disappointing, such behavior is expected from an employer who has previously engaged in an unfair labor practice against a Bargaining Team member in an attempt to undermine the bargaining process.

Our Bargaining Team firmly believes that we are far from an impasse as there remains much to discuss. To prove that an impasse has not been reached, our team responded to Macy’s that we:

  • Have further room for movement on our proposals.

  • Wish to further explore ideas that were discussed in negotiations but not yet fully developed.

  • Need additional information from the employer to reevaluate the current status of outstanding proposals.

Macy’s eventually agreed to meet with our team on November 6 & 7, but they continue to assert that they believe the parties are at an impasse. We are concerned that their continued insistence that there is an impasse violates the law and signals they are likely not reviewing our proposals, concessions, and requests for information in a good faith manner.

Our Bargaining Team is fully prepared to engage in good-faith negotiations with the employer on November 6 & 7. Nonetheless, we will continue to prepare for an unfair labor practice strike if Macy’s decides to persist in their unlawful conduct.

Macy’s Bargaining Update 96% VOTE TO AUTHORIZE A ULP STRIKE!

Our Union Bargaining Team: Azia Domingo, Curtisy Bryant, Emily Hunter, Liisa Luick, Nicole Hardin.

During our October 6 vote, Macy’s workers made a powerful statement with 96% of workers voting to authorize an unfair labor practice (ULP) strike. We said a loud and clear “NO” to Macy’s contract offer!

Our message is straightforward:

  • We stand united against Macy’s illegal actions targeting Bargaining Team member Liisa Luick.

  • 50-cent raises are no longer enough, especially in light of historic inflation over the past few years.

  • We demand Macy’s take significant steps in providing a safer environment for both customers and colleagues.

  • NO TAKEAWAYS!

However, it’s important to note that this authorization doesn’t mean we’ll go on a ULP Strike right away. We remain committed to the negotiation process and are actively working with the Employer and a Federal Mediator to secure additional bargaining dates. We are extending Macy’s another opportunity to meet our straightforward demands. However, if they fail to do so, we may find ourselves on a ULP Strike during the holiday season.

We invite all members to join our upcoming series of Picket Captain training sessions. These sessions will equip you with the skills to become a Picket Captain, a workplace leader who plays a pivotal role in preparing for and implementing a ULP Strike. Picket Captains are essential to the success of our ULP Strike, as they sign up co-workers for picket schedules, can answer co-workers’ questions about a ULP Strike, and help us all work together to secure a fair contract.

Downtown Dog Lounge Bargaining Update

Our Downtown Dog Lounge Union Bargaining Team met with Management’s team (new general manager Kelley Kittle, manager Karene Cambridge, owner Elise Vincentini, and owner’s legal counsel Erik Laiho from Fisher Phillips LLP) for our second bargaining session!

Our team made proposals on sick & safe leave, bereavement leave, holidays, scheduling practices, and safety around working during heat waves.

A note about Initiation fees: UFCW 3000 does not require workers who helped form our Union or had been employed during Union elections to pay an initiation fee. We had proposed that the Union be allowed to hold a new union member orientation for workers to be on-boarded and discount any possible initiation fees in the future—DDL Management rejected these proposals.

Our next bargaining sessions are scheduled for October 24 and 26. Remember the best source of information about negotiations are our Union Bargaining Team members, please reach out to them if you have questions!

UFCW 3000 Podcast Episode 8: So what's a union rep anyway?

I know I have a Union Rep, but who are they? What do they do? And what are my "Weingarten Rights" again? Michaela sits down with her Union Rep, Brandan, to hear more about his role and discuss rights on the job, meetings with management, and the many ways members can be involved in enforcing their contract and supporting each other. || UFCW 3000 members: you can look up your union contract and your Union Rep at https://ufcw3000.org/find-a-contract

UFCW 3000 union shop steward Michaela is always ready to answer fellow members’ questions about their union. She’s also a devoted murder podcast listener. Put those interests together, and she decided to start a union podcast to get all her coworkers’ questions and her own questions answered, and to meet as many people as possible who could share what it means to be a part of UFCW 3000. (No murder on this podcast, only solidarity!)

Macy’s ULP STRIKE AUTHORIZATION VOTE NOTICE

After months of negotiations with Macy’s, our Union Bargaining Team has called for a ULP Strike Authorization Vote to be held on Friday October 6. This is after the Employer served our team with their “last, best, and final offer,” triggering the requirement for a vote. Macy’s latest offer includes:

Making matters worse, we have reviewed some of the employer’s actions during the course of negotiations with our attorneys and have determined that Macy’s has committed illegal unfair labor practices (ULPs). In response, UFCW Local 3000 plans to file charges against Macy’s with the National Labor Relations Board.

ULP Strike Authorization Vote: Friday, October 6, 2023

Southcenter: 8AM to 11AM & 2PM to 5PM at DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Southcenter (16500 Southcenter Pkwy, Seattle, WA 98188)

Alderwood: 8AM to 11AM & 2PM to 5PM at Lynnwood Event Center (3711 196th St SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036)

Bellingham: 8AM to 11AM & 2PM to 5PM at Oxford Suites Bellingham (4051 Meridian St, Bellingham, WA 98226)

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A STRIKE IS AUTHORIZED?

If members vote to authorize an unfair labor practice strike, our bargaining team will be granted the authority to initiate a strike when they determine it is necessary. It is important to note that this authorization does NOT automatically trigger a strike on the following day, nor is it the intention of our bargaining team to do so.

After the vote, we will schedule bargaining dates with the employer to see if they are willing to offer improved terms now that they know our team has the right to call for a strike at any time. However, if the employer remains unwilling to provide significantly better terms, the bargaining team will announce a strike date. Plenty of notice will be given to both members and the employer prior to the start of the strike.
